A gang of criminals, so named because they commit crimes with the aid of a small quantity of virtually indestructible "miracle twine" that is accidentally produced when a chunk of green Kryptonite drops unexpectedly into a vat of experimental synthetic fiber at the Synthetic Fiber Laboratory in Metropolis. The gang is apprehended by Superman in November 1952 (Act No. 174: "The Man who Shackled Superman!").
