A member of the resident acting troupe aboard the Golden Star, last of the glamorous old-time showboats, and the secret owner of the showboat’s mortgage, which is coming due soon. In a ruthless effort to foreclose on the mortgage so that he can transform the Golden Star into a floating nightclub, Rowland tries repeatedly to sabotage the vessel to keep its troupe from giving its performances and meeting its mortgage payment, but his nefarious efforts are successfully thwarted by Superman in March-April 1947 (S No. 45/2: “Showdown on the Showboat!â€).(TGSB)
