Ak-Var
Criminal who serves his term in the Phantom Zone and is released to assume a civilian life in Kandor. Exposure to Red Kryptonite gives him the power to transfer Kryptonian super-powers to others, and old cronies take advantage of this and commit crimes that Ak-Var is held responsible for. Superman helps him clear his name and Ak-Var becomes a colleague in Van-Zee's science laboratory (Act No. 336/1, Apr 1966: "The Man from the Phantom Zone!").
