A “notorious criminal scientist†who perpetrates an elaborate hoax on Superman and the people of Metropolis, a hoax involving a bogus predicting machine called “the brain from the futureâ€, as part of a scheme to earn a colossal fee promised him by the inmates of the Metropolis Jail if he can trick Superman into revealing the secret of his dual identity. Superman unravels the hoax and apprehends Martin in September 1956 (5 No. 108/1: “The Brain from the Futureâ€).
