A hayseed from the town of Turnip Center who, acting as spokesman for his rural community, keeps pestering Superman to perform one super-chore after another for the benefit of the town until finally Superman, understandably fed up with the unending requests, stalks off the job in May-June 1948 (S No. 52/2: “Superman Turns on the Heat!â€).
